Scrubb Privacy Policy

Short version: your photos never leave your device, and we don’t collect anything about you.

Scrubb reads the hidden metadata inside your photos and videos and removes it, entirely on your Mac, iPhone or iPad. It is built to do one thing privately, which would be self-defeating to do any other way.

What We Collect

Nothing. Scrubb has no accounts, no login, and no analytics SDKs. We do not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal information.

Your Photos and Videos

The files you open and the cleaned files Scrubb creates are processed locally on your device and are never uploaded to us or to any third party. We never see them, and we never see the metadata inside them. Cleaned files stay on your device until you choose to save or share them.

Location Data In Your Files

The GPS coordinates Scrubb finds inside a photo are read and displayed on your device. To label the map with a place name, the coordinate alone is sent to Apple’s geocoding service. That request contains a coordinate and nothing else: not the photo, not the file, and nothing identifying you. If you would rather it never happened, the app works fully without ever opening a file that has a location in it.

Photos and Files Access

When you pick a photo from Photos or Files, the system grants Scrubb temporary access to just that item so it can read and rewrite it. Scrubb does not scan, index, or upload your library.

Purchases

Scrubb offers a one-time, non-consumable in-app purchase (“Scrubb Pro”) to remove the free-export limit. Purchases are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never receive your payment details. Apple’s App Store privacy practices apply to that transaction.

Diagnostics

If you opt in to share diagnostics through system Settings, your device may send Apple (not us) anonymized crash information. You can turn this off at any time.

Children

Scrubb is not directed at children and collects nothing from anyone, regardless of age.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, we’ll update this page and revise the date above.
