TrekBurn Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how TrekBurn (the “Application”), developed by Serious Business Software LLC (“Serious Business,” “we,” “us”), handles your data. We designed TrekBurn from the ground up to protect your personal information.

Strictly offline-first: TrekBurn does not request, require, or use the INTERNET permission. No data is transmitted from the Application to our servers or to any third party.

What We Collect

TrekBurn does not collect, track, store, or transmit any personal information, usage analytics, or device identifiers. All data you enter is saved locally on your device’s private database and never leaves your device.

Health Connect

The Application requests read-only permission to read the following from Google’s Health Connect API to power its hiking and calorie features:

  • Active Calories Burned — to calculate your daily calorie deficit.
  • Distance — to show distance traveled on your dashboard.
  • Elevation Gained — to estimate relative hiking effort.

All Health Connect data is processed and displayed exclusively on your device. We do not share, upload, transfer, sell, or disclose your Health Connect data to Serious Business Software LLC, advertising networks, data brokers, or any third party. The Application’s use of Health Connect data adheres to the Health Connect Permissions policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Local Storage and Deletion

Your baseline data (age, weight, height, gender) and daily logs are stored locally in the Application’s private database. You have full control over this data and may delete it at any time by:

  • Clearing the Application’s storage in your Android system settings (Settings → Apps → TrekBurn → Storage → Clear Data), or
  • Uninstalling the Application.

Children’s Privacy

The Application does not collect or transmit any data and does not target or collect personal information from children. It complies with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date above reflects the most recent revision.
