Blindfold Terms of Service

These terms cover your use of the Blindfold app. By using Blindfold, you agree to them.

The App

Blindfold is a content blocker for Safari on iPhone and iPad, with an optional on-device DNS filtering feature (Blindfold Everywhere) that extends blocking to other apps. It runs on your own device. Use it in accordance with applicable law and with the terms of the sites and services you visit.

Blocking Is Best Effort

No blocker catches everything. Filter lists change daily, sites change constantly, and some pages are built in ways that make an ad indistinguishable from the content around it. Blocking may also break a site’s layout or features, and some sites deliberately refuse to work when a blocker is present. Blindfold gives you an allowlist and per-rule controls for exactly this reason. We do not guarantee that any particular ad, tracker, or annoyance will be blocked, or that any particular site will work.

Filter Lists and Third-Party Services

Blindfold’s built-in lists are derived from third-party sources including EasyList, EasyPrivacy, and Fanboy’s Annoyance, and are distributed through a public repository. Lists you import yourself are your responsibility. Blindfold Everywhere sends DNS queries to a public resolver you select (Cloudflare, Quad9, or AdGuard DNS); those providers operate under their own terms and privacy policies, and we are not responsible for their service.

Purchases

Blindfold includes a 1 month free trial on the yearly plan. After that it is an auto-renewing yearly subscription, or a one-time non-consumable lifetime unlock. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and you can manage or cancel them in your Apple Account settings. All purchases are processed by Apple and are subject to the Apple Media Services Terms. Refunds are handled by Apple. Family Sharing is enabled for both the subscription and the lifetime unlock.

No Warranty

Blindfold is provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind. We work hard to make it reliable, but we can’t guarantee it will be error-free, that it will block any specific content, or that it will be suitable for every purpose.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Serious Business Software LLC is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of Blindfold, including any loss arising from content that was blocked, or content that was not.

Privacy

Your use of the Application is also governed by our Privacy Policy.

Changes

We may update these terms as the app evolves. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.
