Expectancy

How long you'll live, and what moves it.

Free estimate · $7.99 once or $1.99/week

On Android now · iPhone coming soon

Expectancy estimates how long you are likely to live, then shows you which parts of your life are moving that number and by how much. It looks at smoking, weight and waist, activity, steps and sitting, alcohol, sleep, blood pressure, cholesterol, HbA1c and other lab values, diagnoses you already have, how long your parents lived, fourteen food groups, social connection and stress, air quality, how you get around, and screening and prevention. Every question can be skipped, and a skipped question counts for nothing rather than being guessed at.

The estimate is free, forever. Paying unlocks the reasoning behind it: the full breakdown of every category (the free version shows four of them in full), the disease risks, every change in the simulator ranked instead of the top three, custom scenarios, the complete diet breakdown and a summary you can take to your doctor. Buy it once for $7.99 and it is yours permanently, or subscribe for $1.99 a week with a 7-day free trial. Expectancy is on Google Play now, and the iPhone app is coming soon. It is not medical advice; talk to a doctor before making changes to your health.

Features

Built On Real Data

The baseline is the WHO life table for your country, sex and age, covering 185 countries. Everything you tell it adjusts that baseline using hazard ratios from published studies, and every factor names its study and grades how strong the evidence is.

Your Estimate Is Free

The headline number is calculated from every factor you answer, whether you pay or not. Paying never changes it and never reveals a better one. There is no quiz that ends at a paywall.

What If

The simulator ranks the changes actually open to you by what each one is worth in years. Only changes that apply to you: it will not offer to help a never-smoker quit.

What Of, Not Just How Long

Ten-year and lifetime risk for heart disease, type 2 diabetes, dementia, stroke, lung disease, bowel cancer and atrial fibrillation, each beside the average for your age and naming what pushes yours up.

Nothing Leaves Your Phone

No account and no server. The whole model ships inside the app and it makes no network requests while calculating. Health Connect is read-only and optional, and Erase in Settings really deletes.

Honest About Itself

Not a diagnosis and not medical advice. The app always shows the range around the headline rather than one confident date, and when an association is probably not causal it says so instead of telling you to change it.
