Scrubb Terms of Service

Effective Date: August 2026

These terms cover your use of the Scrubb app. By using Scrubb, you agree to them.

The App

Scrubb is a metadata inspector and remover for macOS, iOS and iPadOS. It reads the hidden metadata inside photo and video files you provide and, when you ask it to, writes new copies with that metadata removed. You are responsible for making sure you have the right to modify the files you open.

Purchases

The inspector is free to use. Exporting cleaned files is free for the first five exports, after which a one-time, non-consumable in-app purchase (“Scrubb Pro”) unlocks unlimited exports. It is not a subscription and does not renew. Purchases are processed by Apple and are subject to the App Store’s terms; refunds are handled by Apple, not by us.

Your Files

Scrubb writes a new file rather than replacing your original, unless you explicitly ask it to replace one and confirm that choice. Every file Scrubb writes is verified before it is delivered to you. Even so, you are responsible for keeping your own backups, and you should satisfy yourself that a cleaned file is what you expect before deleting an original.

No Warranty

Scrubb is provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind. We do not warrant that it will detect every piece of metadata in every file format, or that it will be uninterrupted or error-free. Metadata can be stored in undocumented, proprietary, or malformed ways that no tool can reliably find.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Serious Business Software LLC is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of Scrubb, including any loss of data or any disclosure that results from sharing a file.

Privacy

Scrubb collects nothing about you. See the Privacy Policy for details.

Changes

If these terms ever change, we’ll update this page and revise the date above.
